Overview[edit | edit source]

Wocs are friendly, cow-like alien animals in Survival Mode. They have blue fur and udder-like appendages on their heads.

Wocs spawn in Meadows, Fields, and Forests. They despawn if not fed for 30 days, so if you want to cage them in, you will need to feed them at least once every 30 days to keep them.

Wocs are ragdolled when hit with the Sledgehammer. They will flee from the player when they recover, so the best method of killing one is to hit it repeatedly to keep it stunned until it dies.

Feeding[edit | edit source]

Logo

Wocs can be fed three Corn to produce Woc Milk. To do this, place Corn near the Woc. It will then walk to the Corn and eat it. After eating its third piece of Corn, the Woc Milk will appear. This can be repeated indefinitely, with Woc Milk being produced for every three Corn eaten by the Woc.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Wocs are hunted by Haybots and Totebots and are often killed by them. This is why dropped Woc Steak can sometimes be found in areas where Wocs spawn.
  • Woc is 'Cow' backwards.
  • All Wocs have the Sunshake logo shaved onto their left haunches. This, and the fact that Sunshake Vending Machines have 'HOW ABOUT UDDRINK?' written on their sides, suggests that Sunshakes are made from Woc Milk.
    • This also suggests they are escaped dairy farm animals.

Scrap Mechanic Story

Overview[edit | edit source]

A gun that shoots potatoes. It is one of only three ranged weapons in the game.

Usage[edit | edit source]

Scrap Mechanic Survival Loading Screen

Left mouse shoots a potato. Holding right mouse aims down the makeshift sights, zooming in the player's view. This helps when shooting at distant targets.

The potatoes fired by the gun can destroy any block or part with 1 durability, are detected by Sensors, cause Explosive Canisters to explode, and can trigger Switches and Buttons. They cause a small amount of knockback on hit.

Survival

In Survival Mode, the Spud Gun requires Potatoes as ammunition.

Scrap Mechanic Survival Game

The Spud Gun is currently the only weapon suitable for sniping.

Potatoes fired by the Spud Gun at soil mounds will plant a potato crop.

Obtaining[edit | edit source]

The only way to obtain a Spud Gun is through Trading. It costs 2 Orange Crates, 2 Blueberry Crates, and 1 Caged Farmer.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The Spud Gun is based on the potato cannon, which is also called a spud gun. 'Spud gun' can also refer to a toy that fires small chunks of potato, though the Spud Gun is more similar to the potato cannon, as it fires whole potatoes.
  • The writing on the Spud Gun's barrel reads 'PVC VACUUM TUBE'.
  • Prior to Beta 0.4.0, players in Creative Mode would make a gasping noise when hit by a potato shot by another player.
  • In Survival, the Spud Gun is considered a tool, so is not dropped when your mechanic dies.
  • The Spud Gun was once planned to have a limited ammo capacity, and would have to be reloaded.
